Following a challenging week for America, I wanted to share an article that CNN published this morning highlighting an interview with me from earlier this week.

In this interview, I shared my perspective on how pervasive racial inequity and injustice is in America. While I discussed my own experiences facing prejudice as an African-American man, I also highlighted my strong view that there are very encouraging signs emerging. We are witnessing a broad coalition of Americans coming together and converting the collective anger and frustration into positive, enduring action.

In order to build a better future, one marked by a greater degree of justice and opportunity, we must confront the sources of the inequity that have plagued our society. Because as African-American novelist James Baldwin once noted, "Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

The work ahead won't be easy, but we're in this together.
